University is the tetiary level of education. It is the third level of your educational training. It is quite different from your secondary School life. Or I should say that the only similarity is the name you answer --STUDENT. But in a clearer language, YOU ARE NOW AN UNDERGRATUATE. There are differences between college dormitory life and University hostel life.
You are now an adult despite your age.
You will not be coming home at the end of lectures nor will there be outing or visiting Saturdays as in the Secondary school days.
You will be sleeping in the same with strangers called room mates.
You will be in a strange house and strange environment.
You will cook your food and leave it in that room with strangers and go out. You will dress and undress in that strange room.
There won't be hostel master/mistress to wake you up in the mornings, to ring bells, give drugs at ill health, to call Daddy or mummy for whatever.
You are responsible for your actions.
You decide when to wake up, what to do, where to go to, who to associate with, what to eat, when to sleep or wake, etc.
You decide the religious body to join.
You introduce yourself to your new world.
You will take care of your belongings yourself -- books, bags, toiletries, wears(clothes, undies, shoes, stockings), plates, cutlery, laptop, phones, etc.
You will have a Conner to keep neat, all to yourself.
You will keep and use your money by yourself.
You will choose your friends.
Now you are here, think about how you got here. Remember that many of the students that wrote the entrance examination with you didn't make it to the post entrance screening called Post UTME in Nigeria. Even some that made it to that point were not admitted. So
DO NOT LOSE THIS OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE IF YOU DO, IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO REGAIN IT. GOOD LUCK.
