Although there are so many custom in India from birth to death, but today I want to tell you some main things related to Mehndi.
Mehndi is very popular in India, it is considered very auspicious to apply it on marriage and festival.
History of Mehandi...
Mehndi in Indian tradition is typically applied during Hindu weddings, Namboodiri weddings and Hindu festivals like Karva Chauth, Vat Purnima, Diwali, Bhai Dooj, Navraathri, Durga Pooja and Teej. It is said that the bride whose hand makes the mehndi, the darker the color, the more her husband loves her.
In Indian weddings, a 1-day program is organized for mehndi. In which henna is applied to the bride 1 day before the wedding and all relatives are also offered mehndi.Everybody enjoys music and dance while applying Mehndi in the bride's hands.
While applying mehndi in the hands of the bride, write the groom's name hidden in it.The bridesmaids ask the groom to find his name.Mehndi of the bride's hands is also a symbol of love in the future for the groom.
Mehndi is considered one of the sixteen adornment.Without it the adornment of Indian woman cannot be complete.
Apart from weddings, women also apply mehndi in the festival, it is considered very good.Indian cinema made it more popular.
There are also many songs on Mehndi in India.
You can read more about from here..
Mehndi is derived from the Sanskrit word mendhikā.[1] The use of mehndi and turmeric is described in the earliest Hindu Vedic ritual books. It was originally used for only women's palms and sometimes for men, but as time progressed, it was more common for men to wear it. Staining oneself with turmeric paste, as well as mehndi, are Vedic customs, intended to be a symbolic representation of the outer and the inner sun. Vedic customs are centered on the idea of "awakening the inner light". Traditional Indian designs are representations of the sun on the palm, which, in this context, is intended to represent the hands and feet. Mehndi has a great significance in performing classical dance like Bharatnatyam.

In Sri Lanka also, Muslim and Tamil girls frequently do this art. And have seen many in Indian Tv shows and movies. But how are you managed to do other works, while having them on the hand?

It is very easy. We apply henna on each hand in turns..Well... it dries quite quickly.
By the way It also has a secret, it is that when we sit with Mehndi in both hands, we do not have to do any work.,😆 ...lol
