Hi Friends,
Culture and Religion.
Buddhism is at the heart of our cultural holidays , by learning of the great Sinhalese Kings who brought Buddhism here, or visiting a contemporary temple or monastery and just meeting local people, with over 90 per cent of Sri Lankans being Buddhist. The four leaves on their flag even represent those of the sacred Bo tree, and the four pillars of Buddhism, which has been gives the meaning as Kindness, Friendliness, Equanimity and Happiness. Our culture have given special place to the religion. The best simple example can be mention is Secret tooth relic temple as in below image.
Culture and Heritage.
Sri Lanka is home to some of the world’s most renowned ancient cities which are full of archeological monuments like Sigiriya, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Kandy, and Dambulla among others. Sigiriya is the 8th World wonder and it is a world heritage. These cities are renowned for Buddhist cultural and architectural significant achievements across Asia and Europe with giant stupas, intricate moonstones, beautiful parks, and imposing statues all scattered over a wide area of woodland.
Music and Dancing.
Traditional Sri Lankan music includes the Kandyan drums and the drumming was and is very much a part of music in both Buddhist and Hindu temples. Most western parts of Sri Lanka follow western dancing and music also. With some of invasions in ancient period, there were kaffrinha and baila styles also. I personally like Cultural Devil dancing, kandyan dancing and music. You can see there were different types of cultural dance styles in this video. Kandyan Perahera shows and take special place linking with our culture.

To be honest, I was thrilled to read that someone was going to write about buddhism and his country... Truth is I found things that are copy-pasted from Wikipedia and that's not what we encourage to do, not in our community and not even in Steemit in general.
