Storyline(Script)😎

Over 5,000 colonists and 258 crew members aboard the Avalon set sail on a 120-year journey onboard a sleeper ship from Earth to Homestead II. Mechanical engineer James Jim Preston wakes 90 years earlier than expected when an asteroid collides with a spaceship 50 years after the collision. This is attributed to the ship's alleged damage resistance.

Jim is on the edge of suicide when he is left alone with just a robotic bartender named Arthur, and it isn't long till he discovers a lovely adolescent girl dubbed Aurora Lane cowering inside her seed. After viewing Aurora's video, he is instantly enchanted. Despite his qualms about waking Aurora up early for the company and robbing her of the chance to live a future life, he chose to go nevertheless, convincing her similarly failed. Jim encourages Arrthur to conceal that Arthur awoke her until Jim notifies her. Arthur takes Jim's words to heart. Aurora makes an unsuccessful attempt to re-enter hibernation, despairing at the possibility of being imprisoned in the spaceship for the remainder of her days on Earth. Aurora, a recognized author, and journalist accepts her destiny and immediately begins writing a book about it.

Jim and Aurora develop affection for one another over the following year. Jim plans to propose to Aurora, but Arthur accidentally spills the beans when he overhears Jim declaring that the two of them are not concealing anything. Jim is harmed as a result of Aurora's physical and verbal abuse. Jim's apology infuriates her, and as a result, she avoids any contact with him.

Gus Mancuso, the ship's deck chief officer, is summoned to duty following the failure of a second pod during a string of losses. Even though the computer could not determine the source of the difficulties, the ship's systems experienced various malfunctions. It is possible that the spacecraft will not be repaired in time, and the voyage will be canceled, killing all passengers and crew members who are presently in hibernation. Gus is critically ill due to a faulty life support system prompted by the pod's disappearance. Jim and Aurora aid him in fixing the spaceship, but he succumbs to the sickness just as the mission is about to conclude. According to the Autodoc, the ship's automated preventive diagnostic and handling module, he is projected to have just a few hours left to live. Due to a succession of botched hibernation pods, Gus has suffered pansystemic necrosis. When Gus is reaching the end of his life, he loans Jim and Aurora his deck chief ID to get access to crew only sections on the ship to fix it.

Jim and Aurora come into contact with a succession of hull breaches in the two years following the meteor crash. To maintain the operation of the ship's fusion reactor, all of its other systems must redirect their energy, resulting in a cascading cascade of complications. The outer ventilation hatch was destroyed when the computer exhausted the reactor to halt a runaway plasma reaction. Jim must use manual hatch controls to expel the plasma from the vent tube's exterior surface. Jim must physically hold the hatch open with his hands when Aurora begins venting the spaceship from within due to a malfunction. Despite her devotion to Jim and her affection for him, she is scared of being alone and losing sight of him. Jim discovered that the Autodoc might be used as a makeshift hibernation pod for up to a single person with Gus' permission. Alternatively, he can offer Aurora a chance to reach Homestead II and live the life she desires, even if it means that she will be traveling the remainder of the way alone to get there. As soon as she realized she would never see Jim again, Aurora accepted the ring that Jim had designed for her. She had also fully comprehended Jim's thoughts when he awakened her up.

After 88 years , the ship's crew is awakened on time, just ere landing at Homestead II, just before their scheduled arrival. They discover a large tree with several vines, a residence, and an abundance of flora in the ship's vast assembly area, among other things. Aurora's voiceover narration explains her life onboard the Avalon with Jim throughout the film.
