What kind of fiction-writer should I be
It's a strange question without context.
By that I don't mean what genre to write in; that's an engineering consideration.
A crude way to rephrase it is which psychological profile should I target with my future fiction writings.
See I'm about to write a think-piece on the range of possibilities. It's actually way larger than most people care to know.
Most people know the Hero's Journey and settle for that because it's the most successful. The fact that it's not the only framework is not even the problem. The problem is in not recognizing storytelling as a general purpose tool to smuggle any narrative at all.
And choosing that narrative is what I'm thinking about.
Interestingly at this point I'm not even sure an author has a choice in that matter without being driven by his Jungian shadows.
