INTRODUCTION

With reference to the contest advertisement on the Colombia-original Community Platform,My Medical Experience ,permit me to share my entry for you to peruse through. We wonder how amazing time flies and time has made us forget some past scares that exist in us. Even so, whenever we meet or sense any issue similar to that, it resurrects the past scares again. It is part of life and the experiences and lessons help us alot and shape us.

MAIN BODY

THE ACCIDENT I HAD WHEN I WAS A CHILD

An incident happened when I was a child. People do not like accident scenes and we could and couldn't avoid it. Today, when I look on my skin, I can see such scares. It reminds me on the pain I endured with my brother one afternoon. What really happened? My father had a motorcycle he normally used to go to school. My father was a headmaster of a school that was very far away and not close to home. So he normally used the motor on that long journey. My brothers and I loved this motor so much that we were not used to how to ride the motor. Anytime we tried to pick the motor bike, my father would prevent us from such act because he was scared something bad would happen to us since we were not used to the motor.

One day, my father left the house for a church convention. My brother who was two years older than I am told us to pick the motor bike to visit some of my classmates and his own classmates. Troublesome as we were, we took the motor and took some runs. It was time for us to come back home after a long day. We suddenly met my father by the roadside. He was furious. My brother wanted to dodge him. The motorcycle then hit a car that was passing by.

The motor summersaulted. We jumped from that motor that was already moving fast to the second class road. It was a bad sight. I hit my arm to the floor and my brother suffered on his leg. All at once I felt nothing. I thought I was dead already until I saw blood coming out of my body that I saw that I was in serious pain. We were then rushed to the hospital. The way to the hospital was far and we suffered alot of pain till we got to the hospital.

There were sores all around my body. My father couldn't say a word. In fact, the alcohol spirit that was used to clean my soul is something I wouldn't forget. It was such a pain. I do not love injection and the nurse was asked to give me some injections. I was actually in pain and didn't want to take it, but she had to do it and quickly in order to attend to other patients. I was supposed to take five injections and it was hell for me. So many pains on that day with blood coming out of your body.

I cried on that night seriously. All through this, my brother was also battling with a broken leg. I could see he was passing through serious pain that I was passing through. He had to be referred to a different hospital for his P. O. P surgery. I struggled alot after this accident and missed almost half a semester in school. I suffered alot of pain going to the hospital every week to check up on myself. It took a lot of months before the pain was going away. The brother after fifteen years now still sense the pain in his legs.

LESSONS I HAVE LEARNT

Today, I have learnt a lot of lessons not to be so stubborn. When we were taking the motorbike, there was no fuel in it, but because we had planned earlier to move with it, we went to our money box to get money to buy fuel. Personally, the injections I received has taught me to forever be cautious anytime I am around not to fall sick and have such injections again. Also, drivers must also be careful on the road, at the same time those who use the road as well. If the driver had been careful, we wouldn't have had such accident. I so much fear injections and currently when I see people taken injections, I remember those days. Today I have the scares on my leg, hand, and shoulders.

TO CONCLUDE

We do not know what we will come across as we move on with our daily activities. Sickness and accidents are bound to come, but if we can avoid it, let us try to avoid them. Though I have many experiences yet they were also painful experiences. The alcohol that was already through the open soar and the many injections can't be forgotten.
