Hi, great steemians of this noble community #colombiaoriginal I hope you are coping with the system. Although I am a bit late I have decided to give my contribution to this Earth day contest. It is better late than never. Today, I will be highlighting on the importance of taking care of our lovely planet Earth. Without further ado, let's get straight to the points.

The Worth of Protecting Earth

Life expectancy; there is a saying that "when the last tree dies the last man dies", this is due to the fact that human live is sustained by our green environment. Trees provide us with oxygen and take away the unhealthy carbon dioxide from us. So when we protect the environment we protect the days that we will spend on Earth.

Saving the next human generation; when we take proper care of Earth, we preserve the happy existence of the future generation. We have enjoyed the good things of the planet, but then if we fail to protect it the future generation would not get the opportunity to have the experience on Earth, since our existence will be limited.

Preserving biodiversity; when the Earth is protected, all kinds of animal species are also saved without being cut out of the world. There several species of animals that are really scarce to come by nowadays, due to land degradations, pollutions and the usage of inorganic fertilizers. So, when we put an end to these pathetic practices we save the existence of various animal species.

A way of being appreciative to Earth; planet Earth has offered a lot to the existence of humanity, therefore taking care of it will serve as being grateful to what nature has given us.

Preservation of natural resources; Mother Earth encompasses of forests, water bodies and other important things that are resourceful to humanity. Mining, using chemicals for fishing and pollutions also destroy these beautiful resources we are blessed with.

Cooling off of the climate; Desisting from all sort of pollutions, and putting into the practice of proper waste management and the planting of trees (Aforrestation) will help to protect the ozone layer from destroying, but rather be strong enough to protect the harmful sun rays from hitting Earth which will result in heat on Earth and make us uncomfortable or short lived.

The enhancement of rainfalls; forests have the tendency of influencing the weather pattern, therefore there are regularly rainfalls at areas where there are more trees. So taking care of Earth and planting more trees in our residents and on our streets will result to regular rainfalls which is good for all human endeavors, because water is live.

Enough food for humans and animals; when we take proper care of the planet Earth, we create better chances for the availability of food to us and animals. We consume the yields of most of the trees we plant, as well as those at the forest. So taking care of such green environment will in turn serve as food to the human race as well as animals.

Key Practices to Make Earth a Better Place.
