I thank you to the Colombi-Original team, for creating this contest by which I have a chance to represent the beautiful festival of my country, as my country is huge, diversed and sovereign so, all types of people live ls here and almost all festivals including Christmas, Diwali and Eid also celebrated here. And irrespective of religion we love to celebrate Christmas too, but personally I don't know the rituals of Christmas much I just celebrate it by decorating Christmas tree and cutting cake, So, I want to tell about my special day which customs and rituals I know well.

"Do you celebrate Christmas in your country? If the answer is Yes, say how they celebrate it, if the answer is No, say what other special date is celebrated in December"

Well, in our country many people celebrate Christmas but I don't know much about it's rituals but in December we celebrate dhanu sankranti in our region and it is so amazing like other festivals too which we enjoy so much.

Do you perform any ritual at Christmas or on that special date? We would like to meet you

Yes, we have some rituals regarding Dhanu Sankranti, in this day we pray to our god by organising a puja in the evening for the welfare of all, where all our neighbours gathered in our garden to do the puja, with their offerings for God. Which mostly includes some fruits and local sweets and a special dish.

What special food do you prepare for this celebration?

Well, in that particular day we made a variety of local dishes for both eating and offering to God, we prepare Atakali, Mudhi Mua, Kakera, Enduri, and Rasi Ladu.

  • Atakali - It is a local and traditional food prepared with powderd rice, sugar or jagerry and with black pepper and small pieces of coconut.

  • Mudhi Mua - It is a sweet prepared with rice puffed rice and sugar or jagerry syrup.

  • Kakera - It is one type of traditional cake made with wheat flour, sugar and minced coconut.

  • Enduri - It is also a round shaped cake made by steamed rice flour.

  • Rasi Ladu - It is a sweet made with black or white sesame seed with sugar or jagerry syrup.

Do you have any special memories regarding Christmas or that special date?

Yes, I remembered that when I was a child I love to participate in making Mudhi Mua and which are basically round in shape but I made it in shape of different animals and car.

If you could send a virtual Christmas present to a Steemit user, who would it be and what would you give them?

Well, if it is a virtual gift then I will send some steem tokens to some friends which are basically newcomers which will help them a little in growing their account.

Well, that is how I celebrate the occasion in December and I told what I really do in that occasion which have a special place in our heart.

I want to invite my friend @shravana @aaru and @pea07 to participate in the contest.

15% benificiary has been set to @colombiaoriginal
