My life has been a product of help both physically and otherwise. People have been of assistance to me and I have learned by experience to be available to help people as well.
Also, in today's world, while, rendering help one needs to be careful about who is helped.
I remember being of help to someone who almost cost me peace of mind. One of the days, a course mate walked up to me asking for my notes. I was skeptical about helping her, but she promised she was going to return it after copying the notes.
I waited, expecting her to give it me before the day was over, but then she was no way to be found. The next day, when I met her, she gave me the story of forgetting it at home. The back and forth between us continued for days if not weeks, and she suddenly became rude. With much I gave up on it. Then one day she walked up to me and gave me a disheveled book saying it was mine with all manner of excuses. I smiled at her painfully and took my book (remembering I was always advised never to leave my belongings with anybody). Trust me, I learned that if I had to help you with my notes, then we must visit the cybercafé together for you to make photocopies and at my leisure, of course.
I have also learned to be appreciative to people who helped me.it opens opportunities for more in the future.
I also believe that everyone needs help both consciously and unconsciously.
