Gardening Ulog: I've Never Done It This Way Before

In the years I have been gardening, I have usually used little peat pods to sow my seeds. Then they go out into the greenhouse to harden off before planting them into the ground. But the other day I came across a YouTube video fro MI Gardener about starting to plant some seeds now (in the snow).

I was intrigued by this, as most seed packets clearly state to start sowing seeds either indoors; or after the threat of the last frost date has passed.

In the video, he planted seven different seeds from cilantro to lettuce and from radishes to carrots.

I don't like cilantro or carrots, but I do love radishes and all greens!

So I got to work this morning after the light rain stopped.

I raked up the raised garden bed and made my rows.

I decided to plant:

• White Icicle Radishes
• Spinach
• Slow Bolt Arugula
• Romaine Lettuce Blend
• Grand Rapids Leaf Lettuce

I'm anxious to see how this plays out.

According to the video, and information provided, I should be able to harvest most of these by the end of April with the possibilities of getting two to three more harvests throughout the summer months and into autumn.
