When I cavalierly told @raj808 that I would try my hand at spoken word for this week's poetry challenge hosted by The Ink Well Community, I thought it would be easy. "It will be fun!" I thought. I did a bit of research on what Spoken Word is. It seemed that there are a mere five points to meet and Voila! spoken word it is.
HAH!
After four days of trying and failing to write something, I had to come up with a new plan, and fast. I only had three more days to figure this out! So I decided to try presenting a previously written ballad via an audio recording. Surely that would not be so hard, would it?
HAH!
I now know that Spoken Word requires a collection of many refined artistic skills, writing and acting chief among them. Neither of those is a snap by any means, which I know from quite a bit of experience in both. Then there are the technical aspects. Just imagine a little old lady who knows very little about technology trying to figure out the intricacies of apps, recording, downloading, uploading, embedding, converting etc. It wasn't pretty.
The good news is that Spoken Word has risen in my estimation into an ultimate art form, one that takes years and years to master. This isn't even Spoken Word really; you should be able to see me as well. Next time!!!
I hope this first and probably feeble attempt of mine gives some pleasure to you. Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to it.
Full disclosure: this is a recording (one of a great many!) of a ballad I wrote for The Ink Well a few weeks ago. You can see the written version of it here. Yes, it is a reposting of my words, but via a completely new art form for me, so I hope it qualifies as original content. It should if you ask me. There would be no way for a novice to create a new piece, memorize it (which I did for this recording), record it a zillion times until it's close to perfect, and fashion it into a spoken word post in only one week.

Will you be censored next?

Not sure I would dare try this, so kudos for doing it. This strikes me as a good reading that becomes a moment through the feeling you express in the end. We start out listening to a poem and end up in the room. Well done.
