Yeah, I know you are gonna agree with me on this point. A job is related to many things and not always mean just a source of earning money. It's true that our main focus is money when we choose a regular job. There's no need to explain this because we all understand what job can bring to us.
But the problem arises when we started to think a job is all about money, or some external forces like society or our family make us believe that.
I paused my career to take care of my son. People ask me to find something else as an earning source. And when they get to know I freelance, they provide their opinion that I don't need to do a job anymore if I can earn enough money. Yeah, that's fine for me. But the social expectation, pride, security, identity everything is related to our job designation in my society.
People still don't take it seriously if you freelance, if you are an entrepreneur, a creative worker. They expect a designation. I don't know if this problem is only related to South Asian culture or not!
But this is just one side of the coin.
When the social structure makes us believe and choose our way to have a job for social security and pride, it unknowingly makes us run only for money. I would say Corruption has a direct link with these types of thought. All I can see around me that the job is all about money. But it meant to be so much more, no?
It's hard to break the boundary. But if we can make some impact no matter what we do, society will automatically start to value everyone. That's when it comes to about taking social responsibilities. I believe regardless of what we do if we can manage to work on changing society in a positive way this stigma will reduce.
If you are doing a job, great. But if you are not and doing something else, rock it, don't feel bad about it. As a temporary job less, stay home mom, I was thinking about this for a while. And was searching for answers about what can help me to make this change. I'm just sharing what I believe can help. There must be many more. I would love to know your thought on this also.

Yeah, I also think so sometimes. But for the social stigma, it's still not many's priorities.
Thanks :)
