The things we take for granted until it's gone

Today as I was trying to browse around our beloved Steem blockchain, I tried accessing some tools and apps such as Steemauto, Busy, Partiko, and Steem Keychain, apps and tools that I have taken for granted. I just expect them to work and do the job for me. I expect all these things to be working as they always have.

But no, many of these Steem apps and tools have stopped working, either as a result of witnesses/developers taking them offline in protest against the actions of Justin, or they were plugged into an API/node that is no longer operating.

To be honest, I really feel for all the witnesses and devs who have poured their heart into our blockchain, especially in the crypto bear market. It doesn't seem fair.

All these things also got me thinking about life in general. How often do we find ourselves taking something or someone for granted until they are gone? Has it happened with you. Please, tell your loved ones that you love them, each day whilst we still have the chance, tell them that you love them. And all our treasured possessions, health, and abilities, be thankful for all that you have been blessed with. Don't take anything for granted.

I really do feel for our witnesses. They gave in a lot into the system just to get what this?. It's quite unfortunate and I just hope we can get our decentralized platform back.

I must say, we all fall victim of taking people and things for granted. Everyone is important and thus should be loved and valued.

Thanks for the reminder to not take everything for granted.

Regards!

Yes, very good point about our human nature my brother. How predictable it was and all the many things one might consider as learning opportunities for the inevitable next time will be debated for some time to come.

At the end of day, it is now "water under the bridge" and life goes on. And we will all find out soon enough what the determination is, "high over our heads," as to what will be done about it.

Most thankfully, in the midst of this or any other difficulty, we know our hope is not based upon it nor rest in it @nextgen622. The sun has come up again on a new day and we'll all find out what it holds for us. As ordained from the source of all that is!

Psalm 118:24, 1 Thessalonians 5:18, Ephesians 5:20

P.S. Partiko appears to be one of the uhhh ... "casualties" of this war. RIP ...

it is better to value what we have instead of to value what we had ... many times we see the value of things when we no longer have them ... it is a great defect of the human being.
Unfortunately I have made that mistake at some point... I try not to make it again.
As for steemit... I still don't understand what is happening, but I see that it is no longer the same... it's like a time bomb, I hope everything gets better in the next few days.

But is it true that you never really know the value of what you have until you loose it? The African proverb says that a cow doesn't know what it's tail is used for till the day it is being cut-off.
Indeed it is not a good thing to have loss our decentralized autonomy and a system that supports closed relationship.

Nevertheless, I am very much optimistic that the dry bones shall rise again and the things we've loss to steem witness trail/persecution, we will recover it all.

Haha that’s a nice proverb. Thanks for sharing.

Your'e very much welcome anytime.
