We were in the beautiful desert town of Jaisalmer. We spontaneously booked a tour through the Thar desert on camels, 3 days and two nights.
We were brought into the desert by car, where our tour guide and our camels were waiting for us.
So up on the camel and off we went.
Before the tour, I was skeptical whether it would be too boring to ride for hours through the desert.
I was teached a lesson.
The desert is not only made of sand, there is also steppe and of course we stopped briefly in a small village.
The people there lead a very simple life full of privation.
Water is scarce and needs to be divided.
The dirty dishes are cleaned with sand.
There is no toilet in the houses.
There is a school.
We met children who proudly showed us their exercise books.
The women showed us the toilet.
The stones are the privacy screen and behind them simply makes in the sand ...
On the first evening we were very surprised to see our night camp!
A bed! In the middle of the desert! GORGEOUS!
It gets very cold at night. Despite clothing, blankets and cuddling together, I was still freezing.
My camel's name was Rocket.
In the evening it wasn't just us who were tired ...
The desert is really beautiful!
The second night was not so comfortable!
The bed was the desert sand!
On the second evening, when we were sitting around the campfire, we expressed the wish to spend the night in such a village.
To our surprise, our guide said: "No problem! You can extend one night and sleep in my house."
We did that too.
n the evening we met his family and their cattle.
We then went on foot and brought
the animals back to the village.
Just in time for the sunset, it was wonderful!
We were with the family for a while and ate.
We slept on a hard concrete floor in the next building.
I haven't thought about what kind of animals are crawling around in the room ....
Cover your head ......
In the morning a lamb was born and little goats jumped around in front of our door.
Camel riding is a bit painful for the inexperienced, but of course it is an experience.
But after 3 days I would have hung on for a few more days.
Nice photos.
