If given a large expanse of land, I would prefer to cultivate tomatoes to other plants for several reasons.
*** REASONS ***
(1)Because of the experience I have with tomatoes from the little ones that I have grown in my backyard garden.
(2) Tomatoes are a versatile and high-demand crop that can be grown in various climates and soil types unlike other plant or crops.
(3) They are also nutritious and widely used in cooking, making them a popular choice for both commercial and home use.
** How Long Will It Take To Mature And Harvest? **
From my own personal experience so far with tomatoes, it takes about 85 to 100 days to mature and be ready for harvesting, depending on the variety. As for the so called ball type,
which grow to a certain height and start fruiting all at once, tend to mature quicker, usually in about 75 to 85, whereas the so called snake type,
take about 85 to 100 days to mature.
**What Are The Common Pest And Disease**
Just like every other plant,
tomatoes has it own pests and diseases that if left unchecked and untreated can affect the crop. Some of these common pests include aphids, whiteflies, hornworms, and tomato fruitworms. These pests can cause damage to the plants by feeding on the leaves, stems, and fruits. To control these pests, I normally spray insecticides.
As for diseases, tomatoes are easily prone to issues like early blight, late blight, blossom end rot, and powdery mildew. To prevent these diseases, I do practice crop rotation from to time to time, than provide good air circulation by spacing the plants properly, and avoid overhead watering.
I will love to invite the following users to join me in this unique contest: @goodybest, @abijos and @skinnyblack.
