Nature and Agriculture photography challenge

Maize farming is a very popular form of crop cultivation in Nigeria. It is an essential diet that is consumed by a good number of families and homes. Maize farming in Nigeria is practiced across the country in small, medium or large scale capacities. It serves as a significant source of income for many households that are into farming in Nigeria.
There are about 50 species of maize in the world which are available in different colours, grain shapes and sizes, the popular cereal is mainly available for cultivation and consumption in two variants i.e white and yellow maize. The yellow maize is mostly used for feed and human consumption while white maize is for human consumption only.

1. Nigeria is the largest maize producer in Africa
2. About 60% of maize that is produce in Nigeria is used for poultry feed production
3. Maize is the most consume staple food in Nigeria
   4.maize farming sector account for about 5% of the country the country?

Below are two chemicals that can be used to reduce microbial attack on maize crops for a higher productivity

1. The use of Z- force antifungal chemical : this a carbamates fungicide that is very effective for disease control and protection of crops, fruits vegetables such a tomato , cotton , tea coffee ,tobacco, rice ,oil palm rubber , sugar cane and banana. This chemical inhibits germination of fungus spore . It has effects against mites . It is degradable inside the soil and it's safety for the environment.

The use of lambat ( lambda cyhalothrin): This is a chemical that is very effective in the control of insects in the maize field. It protects the maize against stalk borer when a high volume sprayer is used. It protects the maize crops against acaricidal.

1.It the chemical touches the skin, it should be rinse of the body should be washed speedily

1. It should not allowed to enter into the eye , if such happens then it should be rinse with clean water immediately.
2. Keep out of the reach of children
   Store I a cool dry place

1.Wear eye protection
2.Do not inhale the spray mist
3.Wear protective clothing including mask and gloves
4.Wash contaminated clothes after use
