After a strong showing in the mountainous morning stage on day two of the Ronde de l'Isard, Development Team Sunweb set out to consolidate the positions in the General Classification of Nils Sinschek, Leon Heinschke and Leo Hayter, all nestled comfortably within the top 15 prior to the afternoon team time trial.
Setting off at 16:30, the third from last team to do so, the provisional standings were beginning to take shape. The team stormed their way around the 11 kilometre course taking the lead in the intermediate time check by just two seconds. Measuring their effort perfectly, the team managed to hold ontro their two second advantage all the way to the finish line in Bagnères-de-Luchon to claim their first victory of the season. As a result, Sinschek moves up a place into second going into day three.
