UFC 249: Tony Ferguson vs. Justin Gaethje for Interim Lightweight Title https://www.casinobillionaire.com/bet-on-ufc-3540.php
The highly-anticipated Lightweight title fight between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov may have been scrapped for the fifth time, but UFC 249 will happen.
Justin Gaethje will stand in for Nurmagomedov, who's confined to Russia due to travel bans. Ferguson and Gaethje will battle for an interim Lightweight title on May 9 in Jacksonville, Florida in what will be a closed-door event.
With the change in opponent, Ferguson has gone from being the underdog to the favourite. UFC 249 betting odds have re-opened with Ferguson as a —180 favourite over Gaethje (+150), who's fairly new to UFC.
The 31-year-old knockout artist was the Lightweight champ with the World Series of Fighting, but vacated the title when he signed with UFC in 2017. Gaethje is 4-2 since joining UFC and has been the recipient of seven bonuses. He's won his last three fights via TKO or KO in the first round.
A contrast in fighting styles will be on display in the Octagon, as Ferguson, who's better known for his submission skills, attempts to ward off Gaethje's lethal punches.
It's been eight years since Ferguson's last defeat, and he's put together a record-setting 12 wins in the Lightweight division since then.

UFC 249 Rescheduled for May 9 with New Lightweight Competitor
Tony Ferguson will have to wait a bit longer to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov. To the disappointment of fans, Covid-19 travel restrictions have derailed the Lightweight title bout, which has now been cancelled for the fifth time.
In the meantime, Ferguson will fight No. 4 Justin Gaethje for an interim Lightweight title at UFC 249.
The change in opponent has flipped Ferguson on the UFC odds board from underdog in his matchup with Nurmagomedov to a —180 favourite against Gaethje (+150). As he was expecting to fight the Russian mid-April, you can be sure that the California native will be in tip-top shape when he enters the Octagon on Saturday, boasting a 12-fight win streak.
