If Sunday's results were any indication, the New York Knicks are going to have their hands full on Wednesday when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers, live at 7:30 PM ET on ESPN. New York got steamrolled 125-109 as 8-point underdogs at the Garden. Joel Embiid led all scorers with 37 points for Philadelphia, and James Harden posted a triple-double (29 points, 10 rebounds, 16 assists) for his new employers.
The Knicks (25-36 SU, 26-35 ATS) are bringing the proverbial knife to a gunfight in this matchup. Even with Derrick Rose (ankle) still unable to play, Kemba Walker (personal) was shut down for the remainder of the season, leaving the club without their top two point guards. The updated NBA live odds are constantly changing and everything can happen. Nerlens Noel was also a late scratch Sunday, reportedly because of plantar fasciitis. Jericho Sims was Mitchell Robinson's back-up at center, and neither had an answer for Embiid.
As for the Sixers (37-23 SU, 30-29-1 ATS), they look like serious title contenders now that Embiid and Harden have been paired together. They've won five of six games at 4-2 ATS since acquiring Harden and Paul Millsap from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and two first-round draft picks.
