The Colorado Avalanche have been Stanley Cup favorites for almost the entire 2021-22 season. They might get the chance to finish off the reigning champion Tampa Bay Lightning this Wednesday in Game 4 of the Cup Final. ABC will have the coverage from Amalie Arena at 8 PM ET.
For Colorado to complete the sweep and take home the Cup for the first time since 2001, they first have to defeat Tampa Bay in Game 3 this Monday night (8 PM ET, ABC). And that game's nearly a coin toss according to the hockey odds, which have the Lightning as slight -115 favorites over the Avalanche (-105). The Avs are –575 favorites at press time to win the championship after taking the first two games at home; the Lightning are +400 to come back and claim their third straight title.
Comebacks are nothing new for Tampa. They dropped the first two games of the Eastern Conference Final to the New York Rangers before sweeping the next four games and winning the Prince of Wales Trophy. The Bolts also have the health advantage in this series, with center Nazem Kadri (hand) and LW Andre Burakovsky (undisclosed) both listed as day-to-day for Colorado.
NHL Odds: Avs-Bolts in Potential Cup Clincher
After winning the first two games of the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals, the Colorado Avalanche could wrap up the season this Wednesday (8 PM ET, ABC) when they visit the defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 4. That's if the Avalanche also win Game 3 this Monday; the Lightning are -115 favorites against the Avalanche (105) after both teams opened at –110 odds.
The Lightning faced a similar situation in the Eastern Conference Final when they dropped the first two games to the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden before sweeping the next four. But they remain +400 underdogs to win their third consecutive Cup.
