In 2013, Robin Thicke's fame skyrocketed. His single "Blurred Lines" became the best song of his career and he played every party, club and house show around the world. Due to the popularity of the song, he won important awards and performed on stages to which he was never invited.
But success has a price. He soon went through a very public and unpleasant divorce from his longtime love, Paula Patton, and fought the songs in court against unauthorized copyright claims. Superproducer Pharrell Williams, who wrote the song with Sikh, recently admitted that he regrets his involvement on the record, and he's certainly not the only one, as Emily Ratajkowski said something similar.
"Blurred Lines" has received some criticism for its overly sexualized lyrics, including inferences about drugs and, of course, the theft of Marvin Gaye's property, which the songwriter vehemently denies. Feminists in particular believe that the song promotes rape.
