Hi everyone,
I recorded my busking session today. I am a little bit rusty and a lot of stuff wasn't clean, but I am so happy I was able to go out and dance on the street again, since it has been over a year since I have been.
I started busking because when I started Tap dancing at age 26 I was so scared of improvising that I almost threw up when It was my turn, and eyes were on me.
One time at Stockholm tap festival, I think that was my second time at the festival, I wanted to attend a cypher, and was standing there waiting for my turn, we each improvised for 4 bars, I got more and more panicked the closer it got to being my turn and when I had to go I did one step, heard my feet making a sound and COMPLETELY FREAKED OUT! I ran away and the rest of the festival was completely ruined.
So I figured if I always practice with eyes on me I will get much much better. It was agonising at first, It took about 3-4 years till I started enjoying it, because my fear overcame me every time I went out there and made me feel sick to my stomach, but I persisted, because I believed once I have overcome my performance anxiety, my life will be so so much better. Which was true.
No-one really knows this, but a lot of performers struggle with performance anxiety, despite performing day after day after day.
Here's the Video, I hope you like it.
Also I will post some more soon.
