Welcome and it’s another story time. Well from our last story about the chicken, we saw that it’s not good to lead an individualistic life.
Today we are still unto the story and lessons from our friend chicken.
A long time ago in the animal kingdom, lived a very frugal chicken who was known far and wide all through the animal kingdom for its intergrity. The chicken was known to be meticulous in its doings and knows how to keep thing safe. Well this earned it a famous reputation amongst the animals in their kingdom.
One day the Elephant king of the animals decided that they were going to start a building project to build a village square were all the animals would gather for their monthly communal meetings.
A particular amount of money was levied on all the animals to pay over time as that would be used for the building project. The animals agreed to this as a welcomed idea but one thing remains uncertain. Who would be responsible for holding the money that was being gathered over time to ensure it safety?
All fingers pointed to the frugal chicken. All the animals unanimously agreed to hand over the money to the chicken as it knows how to keep things. The chicken agreed and started keeping the money. At the end of their meetings, they would give all the contributed sums to the chicken how would give keep it until the day it would be needed.
Well one animal had eyes on the money and it was the tortoise. He started becoming unnecessarily close to the chicken in a bid to find out where the money was being hidden.
One day he came to the chicken’s house and while they sat talking, the tortoise began to massage the chicken ego by calling him all sorts of good names and praising him for how frugal he has been with keeping money. All this was with the intention of getting the secret out from the chicken.
The chicken was Carrie away with the praises and when the tortoise asked him how he has managed to keep the money safe so far, the chicken told him that he dug a hole under the root of a particularly tree and that he hid the money there and would retrieve it when needed as the time was almost close.
The tortoise praised him one more time and after the vist he left. The next day at night, the tortoise went to the location where the chicken told him he hid the money and stole the money from there and covered up the hole neatly.
The D day arrived and the entire animals gathered and asked the chicken to go get their money in order to commence their building. The chicken went to the place where he kept the money and started digging the ground to uncover the money but the money was no where to be found.
He dug and dug and didn’t see the money. Till today the chicken is still in search of the money and that is why when ever you see the chicken, it’s always scattering the ground with its legs still searching for the money.
The moral of this lesson is that you shouldn’t trust some persons with some vital informations that is meant for just your consumption. Do not be flippant with your words. There is no art to know the minds construction on the face.
