Hello Steem-Agro Community

Hello My Steemain Friends ,

How are you. I hope you people of steemian are good and enjoy your life . Well I am well. May God bless you all. Today I am writing about an interesting Steemit Engagement Challenge S20 - W1: which is all time my favourite topic “Impact of Climate Change on Agriculture"". So, in this post I am going to share my point of view about this topic.

Describe in detail how agricultural productivity is affected by climate change.

Whenever there is an impact on agricultural production, climate change is the main reason for it. Because sometimes drought, excessive rain, excessive frost, all these affect agricultural productivity, due to which farmers have to suffer heavy losses. Let us understand the reasons due to which climate affects agricultural productivity.

Temperature against agriculture

When there is a excessive increase in temperature, there is a huge impact on the productivity of crops. The growth and development of crops stops or slows down. Due to which production is reduced.

Reduction in soil productivity

One of the reasons for the decrease in soil productivity is also change in climate. Due to which the quality of soil decreases and crops are negatively affected.

Chances of increase in pests and diseases

Due to climate change, the chances of increase in pests and diseases increase, due to which the growth rate of agriculture can be reduced.

Effect on the economic condition of farmers

If the productivity of agriculture decreases due to climate change, then it has a negative effect on the economic condition of the farmers. Due to which their family has to face problems.

Discuss how extreme rains and extreme droughts damage crops.

Excessive drought or excessive rain, both the seasons can damage the crops. Excess of anything is not good. The losses caused by excessive drought and excessive rain are as follows

Excessive rainfall

• Due to excessive rainfall, where there is a problem of water drainage, the fields can get flooded and due to excessive water the roots of the crops get damaged. Due to which the crops suffer heavy losses.

• Due to excessive rainfall, many types of water-borne diseases spread. Due to which the crops can also get damaged.

• Due to excessive rainfall, the soil capacity is severely damaged. Due to which the crops are not able to get sufficient food. Due to which the crops are damaged.

Extreme drought

Extreme drought causes shortage of water for plants. Which stops their growth. And in this situation, due to drought, plants get destroyed. And when plants are destroyed, whether it is fruits or grains, there is a huge decline in their production.

Due to extreme drought, the fertility of the soil decreases and the soil can also get spoiled.

Due to excessive drought, the minimum temperature required by the crops decreases, due to which they do not get their nutrients and they slowly start getting destroyed.

Whether it is water or drought, if everything is in equal quantity, then the intelligence of the crops cannot be stopped. Water is life, whether it is human or animal or plant. Everyone needs water.

Hello Discuss in stages how new pests and diseases are emerging as a result of climate change AND what measures farmers can take to prevent them.

What kind of pests and diseases emerge due to climate change and what measures farmers take to get rid of them, is as follows.

  • Climate change causes pests and diseases, which reduce the fertility of the soil. Due to which there is a huge reduction in agricultural production. These are the types of pests and diseases that arise due to climate change.

  • Increase in the temperature of the climate can also cause the emergence of pests and diseases. And as their quantities increase, the growth rate of crops decreases.

  • Some pests are of such a type that they directly attack the roots of crops. Which can become a matter of great concern for farmers

  • Measures taken by farmers to get rid of pests and diseases.

  • Farmers should use pesticides and medicines as soon as they suspect climate change, it should be such that neither the crops are damaged nor the environment is harmed.

  • To avoid financial loss, farmers should prepare crops according to the changing weather so that those crops are not affected by pests and diseases.

  • Farmers should use modern methods to protect crops from pests and diseases, so that their crops can be saved.

  • Pesticides should be sprayed at regular intervals, so that the chances of pests and diseases are reduced.

  • The highest quality fertilizers should be used in farming, so that it protects the crops from harmful pests and provides growth.

Discuss what changes in irrigation systems are required due to climate change.

Irrigation is very important for crops. Farmers should make arrangements for water storage for irrigation of crops, so that they do not have to face drought. Such as canal, pond etc.

It is also necessary to know which crops require how much water in a season with high temperature climate, so that sufficient amount of water can be stored for drought. The farmer who does not store water has to face drought like situation for a long time. Rainwater Harvesting and Water Recycling.

Due to modern methods and proper training, farmers prepare good strategies for irrigation and which saves their time and also gives good crop yield. These strategies are drip irrigation and sprinkler irrigation.

There should be partnership between farmers and local communities for irrigation. So that this problem can be dealt with in collaboration with irrigation management during drought.

Explain the two best ways to respond to climate change..

We can understand the two best ways to respond to climate change in this way that we should adopt such strategies that can protect our crops during climate change.

pexels-leon-aschemann-734730704-27420255 (1).jpgpexels

Farmers should be prepared in advance to protect crops from climate change and adopt modern strategies. What kind of damage is caused to crops and how it happens, what are the ways to save them. We should be aware of each other and their solutions should be spread.

Financial assistance should also be received from the government to solve the problems caused by climate change. So that farmers do not have to face problems and their financial condition is not adversely affected.

Observations and suggestions:

. You have demonstrated good knowledge but note this details while highlighting those sailent points. Temperature Variations in the form of excessive rains or droughts are major determinants of crop poor yields. They cause leaching, soil erosion, crop lodging, water stress, lack of moisture, etc. that severely hampers crop life.
. You have nicely explained the impacts from extreme rains and droughts in crop yields.
. I hope to see more details in your next publication while responding to each task
. Generally, you have made a good post.

Thank you for your participation.
We hope to see you in week 2.😊

Climate change is indeed a pressing and ongoing issue.

It is one of those things that did not knock on our door and announce itself. No, it crept up on us, and we chose not to notice it. And now? Now, it is almost too late.

We have seen dramatic changes in our area just because of climate change. All that remains is for all of us to work together to make a significant impact and help create a more resilient and sustainable future.

Best wishes!
PS: Thank you for the invitation

When agriculture suffers, so does the livelihood of farmers. The economic consequences can be devastating, particularly for small-scale farmers who depend on consistent yields to support their families. Climate change makes it harder for them to maintain their crops and income, leading to increased financial stress and insecurity.

We are the hope!

You highlight the impact of climate change on agriculture. Conditions such as high temperature, rain, and drought lead to reduced crop yields. Soil fertility decreases and the risk of pests and diseases increases, causing financial losses to farmers.Farmers can mitigate the effects of climate change by using modern irrigation methods such as drip systems and better fertilizers. are You have shared a great content and developed it well, hope you get success
