Hello steemians, welcome to my blog. Today I am going to draw an axe which is a tool for cutting wood.

The materials I used

• A sheet of paper
• Pencil with eraser
• Red pen

🔥 Step by step procedures of how I drew the axe.

Step 1.
I drew the handle of the axe.

Step 2.
I drew the metal blade with it's sharp edge.

Step 3.
I shaded the axe both the handle and the blade. I shaded the metal blade black with my pencil and to the sharp edge, I shaded it light.

Step 4.
I had to use my red pen and pencil to shade the handle to make it look a little bit browny and this is the finished look of my drawing.

Explain the uses/importance of the axe

An axe is a very useful to tool in the following ways

• An axe is used for wood chopping. Sometimes, you may be in need of wood to make a good fire. Instead of hunting around for deadwood that is of the size you want, you can use axe to cut fallen branches or large pieces of deadwood to your desirable size.

• The long wood handle of the axe enables the user to produce a more powerful swing with greater leverage for it to make a better cut.

• An axe can also be used for light reflection. The blade can reflect to light and allow you to get attention in case of emergency.

• An axe can also be used for trimming branches.

• It can also be used as a weapon. A sharp axe can be used as a defense tool to fend off wild animals in the bush.
