Steem-agro Contest: "Basic Knowledge in Agriculture #17"

Welcome to another new week in the community! We are happy to see the gradual growth in participation. We appreciate this and urge you to also invite others to join this upward growth. We will be looking at an interesting topic this week that would get everyone to give their views as required.

Agriculture is the backbone of many countries and the mainstay of their economies. A knowledge of how best it contributes to our space is a drive towards creating an awareness for food security and sustainability.

A better understanding of agriculture brings about successful farming systems both in crop and livestock production as well as environmental stewardship. For this week, we want participants to test their basic knowledge of agriculture by attempting our task as presented in the hints below.

Agriculture has played a very significant role in the modern world today, and you can't write it off. Many families Irrespective of the kind of job they do but still create free days for farming/planting purposes, this act has helped grow the Agricultural sector.

There are practices used by the traditional people(villagers) while farming, and it brought a lot of gain to farming. They knew what to do to protect their crops from certain insects which brought great yield. What we are to do this week is to talk about these practices we have heard/practice or come to see, and also share some of the tools used before tractors came in.

I still see rope/dry plantain leaves tied around fruit bearing trees like mango, the mystery behind it is that it prevents excessive falling of unripe fruits. Most of these things that looks physically impossible is actually possible.
