What is the primary purpose of animal mating and what benefit is it in the agricultural sector |
---|
What's really fascinating about animal breeding is that it's not just about air pollutants, that they also result in greenhouse gas emissions, including methane. So this is the figure from IPCC, or the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, fifth assessment report, AR5. And it shows the difference in energy coming in from the sun and what's emitted from the earth. So when we have more energy, that's trapped in the atmosphere, it becomes positive. And so you are seeing the largest greenhouse gas in terms of global warming potential, So animal breeding help reduction in its production and farmers to become more sustainable.
What is Monogamous and Polygamous mating. Give the different types of mating with their examples. |

In the animal kingdom mating with multiple partners is a common phenomenon. There are 10 species that mate with multiple partners.
Fact number one lions are known for their polygamous nature male lions often mate with multiple females within their pride.
Fact number two peacocks are polygamous birds that often mate with multiple peahens to increase their chances of reproduction.
Fact number three male elephant seals are known for their Harem Behavior. They often mate with multiple females during their breeding season.
Number four gorillas are known for their polygenous nature. Male gorillas often mate with multiple females within their social group.
Number five baboons are known for their promiscuous nature. Males often mate with multiple females within their Troop.
Number six while the female counterparts form monogamous relationships male anglerfish are polygamous and often mate with multiple females
Fact number seven male Bowerbirds are polygamous birds that often mate with multiple females they build elaborate nests or Bowers to attract mates
Fact number eight male Elks also known as bulls are polygamous animals that often mate with multiple females known as cows.
Fact number nine chimpanzees are known for their polygamous nature. Male chimpanzees often mate with multiple females within their social group.
Fact number ten wolves are social animals that often form monogamous bonds with their mates, however some male wolves May mate with multiple females within their pack.
These species are just a few examples of the many animals in the world that mate with multiple partners from Lions to wolves. Their behavior reminds us of the diversity of reproductive strategies in the animal kingdom.
Apart from the above mentioned animals most of the animals are Monogamous in nature.
