Greetings, fellow Agro and Eco-loving Steemians. This is my first article here. And this is about the contest of Basic Knowledge in Agriculture-14. Let's begin.

Agricultural Technology

Before talking about agriculture technology, let me talk about what technology is. Technology is a thing, tool, idea, or method that is developed by humans to solve the problems we face in our daily lives. Technology helps us to increase the production we get to make our daily lives easier.

So let's look at those conditions. We will find the answer to what agricultural technology is. Agricultural technology is some tools or methods or things that are helpful to get more agricultural production. There was a time when people needed cows to dig land. Now, people have advanced technological machines. Fertiliser is another example of technology that helps to produce more crops from the same land. Pesticide is used to keep away the pests from the crops. This is what is called agricultural technology.

There are so many useful agriculture technologies we/our farmers use to produce more crops and reduce the cost and time. I am going to talk about 3 of them.

Water Pump

Water pumps are one of the best agricultural technologies which helps our country's farmers to produce more crops. There was a time when our farmers used to carry water from a pond or canal to their land. But the invention of the water pump discrees their hard work and saves time to produce more effective output. Bangladesh is one of the most rice-producing countries. For the production of paddy, an immense of water is needed. A water pump is too much useful for that. It really helps our country’s farmers to produce more paddy with less cost and hard work.

Tractor

The tractor is another amazing machine, which is very useful for our farmers. In the time of harvesting paddy, the field needs to be dig deep. For that, in the time before the tractor, our farmers need to use cows to dig the land. It took too much time. But with a tractor things become very easy. Now, within some minutes, the farmers can dig their land. Which took more than two days in the past. This amazing machine really makes the life of our farmer easy.

Weather Update

Many people may disagree with me about this, but trust me; this is a very helpful thing for our farmers. Weather update helps our farmers to reduce the damage caused by the natural disaster. When they know about the upcoming floods or heavy storms in advance, they can prepare to save their crops. I noticed this in recent years. The damage could be more if they are unaware of the bad weather. Many people will not agree that the update is an agricultural technology. But, in my opinion, it is an agricultural technology. It helps the farmers to reduce the damage, and sometimes, it also reduces the cost of water supply.
