We have a great opportunity for the right people. We are looking for live-in volunteers at our farm for rescued animals in Tenerife. We offer full board and lodging in exchange for part-time work (25h/week).
We are a small non-profit organisation that puts a lot of emphasis on sustainability. The project is run entirely by volunteers and we are looking for the right people to join our Finca Family. The open positions are perfect for someone who wants a whole new experience, has a passion for animals and sustainability, is open-minded and has no problem with living in a community and very basic conditions.
Everything about us is about the animals, they come first. The accommodation for our volunteers is therefore very simple, there are caravans, caves and small wooden huts. We have a large outdoor kitchen that we share with 25 people and the project is growing all the time.
Currently we have the following positions to fill (if there is no suitable position for you at the moment, feel free to follow us on Facebook as we always have vacancies):
-We are looking for a person with horse experience to work in the afternoon/evening with immediate effect. This involves feeding the horses and small animals in the afternoon/evening, walking the older horses and keeping the yard clean (some mucking out, sweeping now and then etc). No professional experience with horses is required, some experience is sufficient but passion for the animals is a prerequisite. In this role we expect initiative and a willingness to work different hours to other volunteers.
-We are urgently looking for a cook to start immediately. You don't have to be a professional cook, it is enough if you like to cook and are willing to prepare breakfast and lunch for the community with our other kitchen volunteer and keep order in the kitchen. Ingenuity and flexibility is needed here as we are "Freegan" (we get the unsaleable produce from supermarkets and farms) and therefore never know what ingredients we will have available.
