Hi kids! Today, I'm going to tell you all about the amazing festival at Broadmeadows where you can see camels up close! Camels are fascinating animals that have been used for transportation and carrying heavy loads for thousands of years. They are also known for their ability to survive in extreme temperatures and harsh conditions.

At the Broadmeadows festival, you'll have the chance to see camels in person! These majestic animals are often used in festivals and parades because of their unique appearance and ability to carry riders. You can ride on the back of a camel and experience what it's like to travel like a nomad in the desert.
One thing you might notice about camels is their hump. Contrary to popular belief, the hump isn't filled with water. Instead, it's filled with fat that the camel uses as a source of energy when food and water are scarce. Camels can go for days without water, making them ideal for long journeys through the desert.
Another interesting fact about camels is that they have long eyelashes to protect their eyes from the sand and dust in the desert. Their nostrils can also close to prevent sand from entering their noses. And did you know that camels have three eyelids? They have a transparent eyelid that they can use to protect their eyes while still being able to see.
Camels also have unique feet that help them walk on sand without sinking. Their feet have a thick layer of skin that spreads out when they step, providing a larger surface area to support their weight. They also have two toes on each foot, which helps them grip the ground and maintain balance.
In addition to seeing camels, there are usually other fun activities to enjoy at the Broadmeadows festival. You can try different types of food, play games, and listen to music. There might even be a camel race or a camel beauty contest!
