FIRST AID is a first treatment given to an a wound person before taking him to hospital.

FIRST AID TREATMENT TO BLEEDING.

DIRECT PRESSURE AND DRESSING_

(1) Wash your hands before dealing with the cut.

(2) It the wound has dirt, rinse with clean water.

(3) Now place a clean pad, or a clean cloth on the wound and apply direct pressure with your hand ( Do not use cotton wool.

(4) If the injury is to the arm or leg then raise the limb above the level of the heart as this will help to control the bleeding.

(5) When the bleeding has stopped, firmly apply a dressing, and take the victim to the hospital.

FIRST AID TREATMENT TO A SNAKE BITE:

TOURNIQUETS ARE ONLY SAFE USED IN THE TREATMENT OF SNAKE BITE.

METHOD:

(1) Tie a band of cloth around the bitten spot on the side nearer to the heart;
this Prevents the poison from getting into the general body circulation.

(2) With a sterilised ( flamed and cooled) razor blade, make a cut around the bitten spot and squeeze out the blood from the wound.

(3) Wash the wound with plenty of water.

(4) Apply ice to the cut slow down venom action.

(5) Rush the victim to hospital.

FRACTURE:

A fracture is a break in a bone usually caused by accidents, such as motor crashes, and falling.

A bone is usually broken directly across it's width, but can also be fractured lengthwise, obliquely, or spirally.

SYMPTOMS AND SIGNS.

There is usually:

(1) Swelling and tenderness at the site of the fracture.

(2) In some cases, deformity or projecting bones;

(3) Severe pain or mishapen;

(4) Problem in movement or putting weight in the injured part.

TYPES OF FRACTURES.

THERE ARE TWO MAIN TYPES OF FRACTURES NAMELY:

(1) Simple fractures.

(2) Compund fractures.

FIRST AID TREATMENT OF FRACTURES.

(1) Treat any severe bleeding and bleeding and cover any open wound with clean dressing.

(2) Keep the injured limb stead.

(3) Reduce environmental stress to avoid shock, if it is hot keep the patient cool, and vice versa.
