Learn Korean: 'please give me (this/that)'

Some useful Korean expressions that can be used to ask someone to give something(this/that) to you:

주세요 (sounds 'Joo Say Yo') can be used to mean 'please give me (this/that)'. And the expression can be used in a store, to a person older than you, or to be polite. The same expression that can be used for close friend can be slightly different. This expression can not only be used to mean give something to me but if used with 'someone' within a sentence it can mean give this/that to the 'someone'.

For example, let's say in a restaurant:

  1. 'Bill' please / '계산서' 주세요 / 'Gae(Ae sounds like A in an Apple) San Suh(Like 'uh' in Uh oh)' Joo Say Yo / .
  2. "More" 'side dishes' please / '반찬' "더" 주세요 / Ban('A' sounds like A in Aha) Chan Duh Joo Say Yo / Not all but many Korean restaurants offer side dish free and refill as you need.
  3. Give me 'this one' please / '이거' 주세요 / Yi Guh Duh Joo Say Yo / You can use this to ask for something while pointing the object, or you can even use this to order while pointing a dish on the menu. (If you want to say 'That one' you can use 저거(sounds Jug guh) instead of 이거('Yi Guh')

Hope this helps!
