General elections are scheduled to be held in Namibia on 27 November 2024.
These elections will include both presidential and parliamentary votes. The current President, Nangolo Mbumba, who assumed office following the death of President Hage Geingob on 4 February 2024, has announced that he will not be running for president.
The presidential election will be conducted using the two-round system, and if no candidate receives more than 50% of the votes in the first round, a run-off will be held1. This will be a significant election as the nominated candidate from the ruling party, SWAPO, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, could potentially become the first female president of Namibia if she wins
