Red leaves

These are the leaves of a mango.The presence of the anthocyanins pigment make it look like this.It keeps them protected from the UV rays until they are mature enough to have enough chlorophyll to cook their own food.

The colours keep changing as they grow.This is not just restricted to mango leaves though, you find similar things in other plants like rose.
