For the cities / towns / villages in coastal area or riverside - flood and cyclone are a big and regular problem. Here I noted down few precautionary measures can be taken in case of flood or cyclone:

(1) Be attentive towards radio / television / administrative announcements.

(2) Fill dry food such as flattened rice, molasses, puffed-rice, sattoo, salt, sugar, milk-powder, baby food in polythene packets and keep that handy.

(3) Wrap necessary papers, some money in polythene and keep and keep it handy.

(4) First aid such as Dettol, Band-Aid, Leucoplast, ORS, Antiseptic Ointment, Diaherria and fever medicine, your personal medicines, a bottle of zeolite or halogen, neoprene powder, cotton, gauze etc. should be kept in polythene.

(5) Fill the torch with a new battery. Keep the extra battery wrapped in polythene. Wrap candles, safety-matches in polythene. It will be helpful if the power-cut happens.

(6) Keep the mobile phone fully charged. If you have a feature phone, make it usable. Recharge enough talktime in advance and ensure the connection has validity.

(7) Keep the Power-bank / emergency light / inverter full charged.

(8) Write down some necessary phone numbers / administrative numbers on paper and wrap them in polythene and keep them handy. Also note down the numbers of disaster response, fire, ambulance, electricity repair vans.

(9) Write your full name, full address in your native language and English / other language spoken in your country on paper and wrap it in polythene and keep it in the pocket of your shirt / pant. If there is a child at home, write the information of the guardian in this way and stitch that with a safety-pin on the dress.

(10) Collect extra drinking water.

(11) Fill the water tank of the house completely. Place the brick on the lid of the tank.

(12) Those who live near the coast, especially in the villages, judge the condition of their homes and if they do not find confidence there, talk to the panchayat chiefs / administration and move elsewhere.

(13) Large school houses, places of religious worship, where there is a solid foundation building, move there. Please remember that the building need not to be big, but the foundation and walls need to be strong. If there is cyclone-shelter - please go there.

(14) Be away from high voltage wires, ordinary power cables, transformers, large trees or poles. Be careful if you go out even after the storm ended.

(15) If there is a radio, you must make it ready, that one thing is useful even if all communication stopped. If anyone has a walkie-talkie set, talk to the district disaster response office and set the frequency tune.

(16) Make arrangements to strengthen fence as much as possible. May consider to strengthen them with soil. These may blown away by the storm and create danger for others. Danger can be yours too.

(17) If there are plants on the roof or in the open terrace, you must lay their tubs down, or place them on the stairs or in a corner of the room.

(18) Make a note of the phone number of the Electric Supply Department as well as your consumer number (you will find it in the bill) and the number written on the electric pole near the house and keep it handy.

(19) Follow the Covid rules.

(20) Keep coordination between village to village, and communication among yourselves. Help each other. Reach the administration and ask for support.

I wish all fellow Steemitians safety and good health.
