Dear Friends,
How are you all? I hope you all are taking great care of yourself. Today I am here with some photographs of a place called Kamduni.
I captured a few pictures of Kamduni while visiting Kolkata.
The place is about 20km away from Kolkata, a remote area where Fisheries are the main livelihood of people living in the Kamduni.
In the early days, people used to sell Date juice, Date molasses for their livelihood.
The film called Saudagar was based on the same story of a date juice seller, and the actual story was taken from the story called 'Ras.' by Narendranath Mitra.
While passing the place, I felt nostalgic;
and I saw the rows of date palms still present in Kamduni.
As in my childhood, I was fond of date juice. I remember in my aunt's house;
A date palm tree was there,
and every winter night, a person came to hang up a pot made with mud to collect the juice.
The next morning, we all used to have date juice together.
Those days and food style was different from nowadays. Even this time, while coming back home from my aunt's house, my brother gave me a massive amount of Date molasses with me.
Sometimes a place carries so many stories that make that place famous over the night.
I hope you also like the photographs of Kamduni, a nostalgic place of north 24th Parganas.
Stay healthy and happy.
Beautiful
Thank you
