I'm back after a really tough lesson learned. In short, my Steemit account got hacked, through my own stupidity I must admit, but if it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone, as normally I am ultra careful what I click on. However at 03.00am in the morning, I when I was on Steemit half asleep, I accidentally got caught out by a scammer. I clicked on a link promising an airdrop, went back to bed thinking nothing of it, and suddenly in the morning when I got up, I was locked out of my account, and I could see all of my Steem dollars, Tron (TRX) and and Steem had been taken and my account was in a process of powering down. What's worse, on the blockchain I could see whoever it was using my account to target others, and I could do nothing to stop them.
This is what I fell for.... Too good to be true, but very cleverly done you have to admit....
I'm not the first who has fallen prey to these bastards, and I won't be the last. Don't let the next one be you!! The lesson in this - nothing and I mean nothing comes for free, even if it looks as if it's been authorised by the owner of Steemit, Justin Sun!!! Airdrops are for air heads and are ripe for scammers to exploit....
