This is my entry for the "STREET CONTEST" organized by @bright-obias, @belenguerra, and @badsha1
Thalang Road is the main central street in the charming old town of Phuket. This quaint, narrow boulevard is dotted with many attractions and stores, an eclectic mix of restaurants, some nice guesthouses and more, all in the beautiful Sino-Portuguese style architecture that Phuket Town is so famous for. Besides being one of the oldest streets in Phuket, it remains one of the busiest. It is still a major road for traffic, except on Sunday evening when it becomes a walking street and host a very nice night market.
This architectural Sino-Portuguese style was chosen greatly influenced by the architecture of Penang and Singapore which were extremely popular cities at that time.
Built on the riches amassed during the great popularity of tin in Phuket in the last century when tin was an extremely valuable resource, This street was the home of the Phuket tin barons.
In addition to its Sino-Portuguese architecture the houses are extremely colorful and are an invitation to visit the stores they contain.
on Sunday evening, when it becomes a very nice night market, the scent of Thai Street Food can only make you hungry. There is a lot of diversified street food but also some small shows and animations (music, singing, dancing...). You can see everything from a traditional Thai dance to a wild dance on the rhythm of Thai pop music
A place to visit and that I highly recommend
