Hello to my fellow Steemians! How was your day? Is it great? If yes, that's a tremendously awesome to hear.
Saturday, May 13,2021, a day marked by a strong wind. I say it's kind of windy Saturday here in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines. I experienced this strong blast of air throughout my skin and blew my long hair. Somehow I think back to my wind experienced on our trip to Ilocos Norte. That was a wind blossom😁
One of our destination in Biyaheng Ilocos Norte was the Bangui Wind Farm. It was one of the famous tourist attractions in Ilocos Norte. It is not just one of the town's highlights but, their main source of electricity comes from it.
According to Wikipedia, Bangui Wind Farm is a wind farm in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. The wind farm uses 20 units of 70-meter (230 ft) high Vestas V82 1.65 MW wind turbines, arranged in a single row stretching along a 9-kilometer (5.6 mi) shoreline off Bangui Bay, facing the West Philippine Sea.
Phase I of the NorthWind power project in Bangui Bay consisted of 15 of those wind turbines, each with a maximum production capacity of 1.65 MW of electric power, making a total of 24.75 MW. These 15 on-shore turbines are spaced 326 meters (1,070 ft) apart, each 70 meters (230 ft) high, with 41 meters (135 ft) long blades, with a rotor diameter of 82 meters (269 ft) and a wind swept area of 5,281 square meters (56,840 sq ft).
Phase II was completed on August 2008, and added five more of the same wind turbines, bringing the total maximum capacity to 33 MW.
Thought this trip happened way back in 2017 still can’t get over. Honestly, I was really so amazed at how these wind turbines convert wind power into electricity which is the main source of electric power in Bangui, Ilocos Norte. What is it even more incredibly amazing? It doesn't pollute our air like the power plants that rely on the combustion of fossil fuels causing human health problems and economic damages. Wind turbines don't produce atmospheric emissions that cause acid rain, smog, or greenhouse gases.Clearly, impressive!
Indeed man is unbelievably terrific when it comes inventing extraordinary structures. No wonder of this success.
I hope in the coming years, months, or days we can create more feasible things. It doesn't matter if it is big or small. What does matter it can enable to alleviate the planet's life other that it's eradication. I know we can make this possible.
Let us do this all together.
So here, I leave you some of my photographic memories of our Bangui Wind Farm trip.
Thank you so much and may God bless us all.

Have a great Saturday!
