Ganoderma Lucidum, And Several Other Species Of Fungi

in hive-119845 •  4 years ago

It was raining heavily on Saturday night, I think the next day will find lots of parasol mushrooms which usually will grow everywhere after the rain.

Last Sunday afternoon, I spent my free time walking along with the hilly areas of Blang Weu Panjoe. Of course, I wish I could find lots of parasol mushrooms, I love seeing them grow in groups like umbrellas.

Unfortunately, I didn't find them. Was it just one time it rained that night that they didn't appear? It was baffling, considering that almost every time it rained, they were usually seen everywhere.

Instead of being able to find parasol mushrooms, I found Ganoderma lucidum and several other species of fungi. What I know, they did not grow after the rain last Saturday night. But it may have been a week, or more, and they tend to outlast the sun longer than parasol mushrooms.

Ganoderma lucidum is a reddish laccate species of Ganoderma belonging to the family Ganodermataceae. They mostly grow in decaying hardwood trees. In the pictures above, the Ganoderma grows in a dead, rotting coconut trunk.

I have a hard time defining the mushroom species in the picture above, but I'm trying to guess it's a species of Hydnellum concrescens, belonging to the family Bankeraceae. Just like Ganoderma lucidum, they too are reddish-brown in color with white rims but are thinner than G. lucidum.

How about the three images above? I really don't know what species it is. The bottom cap of the hat has thread-like frills.

From afar, I saw it like toast. If I'm not mistaken, it's a fungus in the genus Trametes.

The last three images are the species of Pleurotus tuber-regium with an oyster shell-like concave cap.

That was my adventure with mushrooms last Sunday.
