Hi everyone today I am sharing the port of Walvis Bay managed by Namport since 1994 with a fascinating history, discovered by explorer Bartholomeus Diaz in 1487, it was officially founded by the Cape Dutch in 1793. Great Britain annexed it in 1840 to secure safe passage for British ships.
After Namibia's independence in 1990, Walvis Bay was reintegrated into Namibia in March 1st 1994. Today, it's Namibia's largest commercial port, handling millions of tonnes of cargo annually and serving as a vital gateway for international trade.
