New work from the archives w/ Inkmaster host, @ryanashley!

Good Monday, Steemit! Just about noon, and @guthrie is off for Spring break. I mean, he’s off until the first week of May, but he can enjoy ROBLOX and YouTube videos rather than being homeschooled. I’m trying to balance the good of this pandemic [sleeping in], with the bad [quarantine cabin fever and shared space, distraction based attempts to work]. I like getting a few blog posts done early in the morning, leaving editing and writing for the evening. I’m curious of day time posts reach more people. So, I have new photography to share.

@ryanashley is a long time friend of mine. We grew up just a few miles from one another. We even rode the same bus. She’s gone on to become a huge celebrity tattoo artist and TV personality after winning Inkmaster on SpikeTV. She’s been the host of Inkmaster Angels, and is currently expecting her first child with her husband, Arlo DiChristina. @ryanashley and I have been shooting together for about 15 years, and I have a massive body of collaborative work we’ve done together. I wanted to share a few images from our most recent shoot.

In August of 2019, I was just coming back from 2½ weeks in LA, New Zealand and Australia. I was back in Minneapolis for one day before I had to drive 4 hours to Symco, WI for a book signing with Working Class Publishing. During that one day, @ryanashley and Arlo were in Minnesota for a wedding in Stillwater, MN. We decided to seize the opportunity. She booked one of my favorite hotels in the world, and we met there for this collaboration. @vermillionfox and I brought boxes of candelabras, dead flowers, mirrors and antique picture frames from our home.

It’s poignant to be sharing these new photos of @ryanashley and Arlo, because I should be there right now, shooting a maternity set in Grand Junction, CO. One of the many trips and plans that was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Better than to risk all of us getting sick, but I think revisiting this shoot from last summer was, in part, therapeutic for me. First time I’ve shared the new work on the internet, so I hope you enjoy. In the coming days, I’ll be finishing a lot of editing now that my studio room is finished. Thanks for reading!
