When Your "Feathered Friends" Are Enemies

Trying to photograph these feathered fighters is difficult, but I got some shots I like.

With a sudden rapid downfall here on the homestead, food for the wild animals is more scarce than usual. My Little-Peppers like to sprinkle some bird seed on the back porch railing to help the cute, little birds out, and they have a lot of fun watching them too. When it comes to dinner time, not every flying creature has manners.

In these photos, although there is plenty of food for all, a White-Throated Sparrow and a Dark-Eyed Junco are spatting. Personally, I think it would be the Dark-Eyed Junco's fault, as they seem more inclined to disagreements and altercations. Both of these species are winter residents here in our area, and I'm sure they are blessed by the seed my children placed outside for them, even if they do choose to fight over it. Enjoy the photos!
