The Giant Indian Tree Squirrel - A close shot

I was camping in the forests of Kerala in southern India. This was a lovely property on the mountains, right in the middle of the forest. We spent most of our time exploring the surroundings and the beautiful waterfall close by. There as lot of birds that visited the tall trees just opposite the cottage.

The Indian giant squirrel, or Malabar giant squirrel, (Ratufa Indica) is a large tree squirrel species, endemic to India. Their agility and sure-footedness is a sight to see.
