First night at Cooly Rocks On Festival
Cooly Rocks On is an annual festival held in Coolangatta, Queensland, Australia, celebrating the rockabilly, rock and roll, swing dancing and hot rod and custom car culture. It takes place over several days, with the largest days being Saturday and Sunday, showcasing a variety of events, live music performances, dance competitions, classic car displays, and more.
Coolangatta this weekend was like stepping back in time to the 60s
We drove down from Brisbane on the Friday to Cooly Rocks On. Here you can expect a vibrant atmosphere with people dressed in retro-inspired outfits, classic cars lining the streets, and the sound of rock and roll filling the air. The festival is known for its energetic live performances, featuring local and international rockabilly and rock and roll bands. And over 900 cars on display with no car past 1975. So all the classics are here!
During the festival, the streets of Coolangatta are closed off to vehicle traffic, creating a pedestrian-friendly environment. This allows festival goers to freely explore the festival stalls, food vendors, and merchandise stands that line the streets. You'll find an array of vintage clothing, accessories, vinyl records, and other retro-inspired items.
And have a close look at these amazing cars especially the custom hotrods which are my favourite!
I took these shots as we made our way home after some dinner and drinks at the festival.
It was a great night and the next day was just as good! So stay tuned for those pics
I don't know a thing about cars...but these pictures are quite good.
