The view that 'medicine' can only be a physical substance consumed to make an ill person better is unfortunately a sequelae to the reductionist thinking that modern medical science has created.
This has bled through into the 'natural medicine' world with a belief that pharmaceutical medicines get replaced with 'natural' medicines derived from herbs and appropriated from folk/indigenous traditions.
The basis of TCM - as you know - is that illness comes from the deviation from one's 'true nature', and thus 'medicine' is anything which brings us back to that natural state.
And given we are not just a physiological body - we are also emotional, cognitive, spiritual beings - then there are many things that are 'medicine'.
Check out the details in the Natural Medicine Manifesto.
So much of what you do is 'medicine' in my opinion. Art is most definitely medicine, if not just for the artist themselves...

You say that so well! Medicine is anything that brings us back to our natural state.
Not only western medicine but western thinking in general is so based on trying to control things, and this mode of being has permeated most cultures throughout the world. Rather than trusting life to show us the way when we quiet our mind, we tend to find “right” ways of thinking about things and doing things , some kind of standard, clear idea about what each and every thing is, but social interactions can be art and art can be medicine and medicine can be prayer, we flow much better when we don’t worry too much about what’s what and focus more on how it feels and the effects it has. Perhaps I’ll do a series of posts on this 😆
Ahhh it's you! Hey!
