A baby died after a heavy fall. On Wednesday, Mohamed F. appeared in the criminal court of the Val d'Oise. In court, his testimony was confusing.
Mohamed F. is accused of dropping his baby so hard that it developed a fatal blood clot, thus causing the baby's death, according to Le Parisien. Recently, he has been defending himself in the criminal court of the Val d'Oise.
After four days of trial, on Wednesday afternoon, he again stressed that he was watching Ilyes when the crime occurred and had been playing with him. on the night of January 21, 2018, in Arnouville, he did not let Ilyes fall. But the next morning, the tiny five-and-a-half-month-old baby was rushed to the hospital. Doctors believe the infant had been dropped violently and rapidly. The young man was subsequently arrested. Ultimately, doctors were unable to save the little baby, and Elise died on March 30.
In the criminal court, Mohamed F. stated, "I played with him. We laughed together. Everything was very simple. Just like any father, playing with his child. Dancing, spinning ......" The defendant briefly described the story of his relationship with his son, whom he said he loved as much as he loved himself.
The court president said, "We need you to describe, in more detail, what you did to Elise. That is the key point of our question." The defendant stated, "At the time, we were playing together and he was not feeling well. I saw that he was in a different state than he had been. He was kind of lethargic and very tired."
In front of his family, he had more to say in his defense. Elise's aunt said that the defendant had said that he had fallen over during a flying game with the baby. The defendant responded, "I never said anything like that. It was her own idea. I didn't say many words to her at all." In court, other witnesses testified, but the defendant could not recall all of them.
The court president said, "How can you forget what you said to these people? Now is the time to tell what happened. You were the only one who was at the scene of the crime and the one who took Elise to the hospital, when he developed a large number of fatal blood clots, and it was these clots that caused his death ......"
But the defendant refused to explain any more until he came across a new piece of evidence. It was a transcript of text messages between the defendant and the baby's mother. In the text messages, the defendant admitted his guilt. The baby's mother wrote, "I know you did everything. You will pay for this." The defendant wrote, "Very well, I will create a disabled person. You love your son more than you love me and I am very jealous. I don't want things to go the way they have. That's all."
In court, the defendant admitted that he sent the text messages himself, but stressed that "the context was wrong" and that "I never did that, we were playing a game at the time." The problem, the court president said, lies in the fact that the phrase play is inconsistent with medical findings. Play does not cause blood clots on the baby's head, and there were no signs that the baby had been beaten. The defendant was the only one who knew what happened, and the baby had already passed away! The defendant explained his text message, "I didn't want this to happen. I panicked. I was terrified. I lost my mind. I was very scared."
He had also stated, "At the time, the baby was crying non-stop and I was holding the baby. Then, the baby fell backwards. I asked myself if I had done this. I panicked. I was fed up with my life." Confronted with this evidence, the defendant stated in horror, "I said this to protect my family. They were threatened. I said this to avoid retaliation. From the beginning, it was a game. I never committed violence."
Yves Dupuis, the plaintiff's lawyer, said the defendant's eyes had betrayed him. In court, the baby's mother, the young mother's friends, and family members had left tears in their eyes several times.
