England squad announced for ODI series
Ahmedabad: England fast bowler Joffra Archer has withdrawn from the three-match ODI series against India due to injury. England have dropped Archer from the 14-man squad.
Archer, 25, has injured his right elbow and will not play in the ODI series starting March 23 in Pune. He will have to return home for treatment, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said on Sunday. Jake Ball, Chris Jordan and David Malan are the three reserve players who will leave for Pune with the England ODI team.
The early stages of the IPL will also come to an end
Archer will also miss the early stages of the IPL, the England Cricket Board said on Sunday. With the IPL starting on April 9, Archer will not be able to play for Rajasthan Royals in the opening matches, the ECB said.
