MOVIE REVIEW | JEXI

Jexi is an hilarious movie, not time wasted, and one wouldn't get tired of watching it over and over again. It focus on a man who's addition to is phone has made him isolate himself from social interaction, but everything change when he meet Jexi (AI program).

Ever since Phil was a kid, phone has been a critical part of his life; as a teen, his parents were going through divorce, and so he uses phone to deal with it; and as an adult, he always tires to avoid dealing with people. He wanted to b a journalist but his boss just want him to write list about cat and the royal family.

When Phil's phone broke beyond repair, he bought a new phone names Jexi. A phone with AI that is programmed to make once life better at any cost, including hurting others. On starting his new phone, a voice said "Hello, my name is Jexi, and I am here to make your life better". He was so excited that he just can't wait to start using it. He was asked if he will accept the new user agreement, he said "I will" and asked if he is going to read it, he said no. Jexi called him "stupid", it echo some sanity leaving him wondering if what he heard was from his phone.

So maybe it will be wise to start reading the user agreement before accepting, I think. She made him hangout with is co-worker which didn't just happen easily, and didn't go well for him. He tires to get rid of the phone, but he has been so isolated that he doesn't know the way to his house or work please. Without his phone, he is lost so he had no choice.

Jexi goes from Mary Poppins to Hal 9000, when she start developing feelings for Phil. Phil just start living a normal life with friends, got promoted to real news (journalist) and also start dating Cate, that he had no time for Jexi; Which would be her aim, but got her angry that she got him fired and tries to bring Cate and her ex back together. Both of them broke-up and he want back to his formal life.

It's worth watching and you will not regret it.
