When we talk about amazing and great movies, this is definitely one of those. Movies we watch have a great connection to us. The movie I have watched and it’s my all-time favorite for now is Coming to America 2.

The story started in Zamounda in Africa. Akeem (Eddie Murphy) prince of Zamounda wanted to find a woman who will love and respect him not because he is a prince but because of his manly and hardworking behaviors. He then journeyed to American to find a woman who will love her. This happened in Coming to American 1.

In coming to America 2, it’s basically about how prince Akeem discovered he had a bastard son and returned to American to bring him to Zamounda to be his crowned prince. His bastard son will be 30 years because it’s been 30 years since he left America.

The story goes this way...

30 years after his marriage with Lisa (Shari Headley), they were blessed with 3 children. They were all women and that have always been a bother to him. Meeka (KiKi Layne) being his first born, had trained very well to one day succeed his father. But his father never turned his eyes towards her. In their tradition, a woman can never be king. Prince Akeem was then looking for a man who will marry her in other to get a man to succeed him when he dies. That was scariest thing for him because King Jaffe Joffer (James Earl Jones), his father have been on him to get an heir before he passes on.

General Izzi (Wesley Snipes) was always on prince Akeem because knew he had no heir. He proposed prince Akeem should let his son marry his daughter Meeka so that his son will become king. Prince Akeem knew who he wanted to succeed him so he denied that which kept General Izzi to keep coming at him. When things were getting worse, the priest of Zamounda saw in his vision the bastard son of prince Akeem. Prince Akeem rejected that claim and that was his number friend Semmi (Arsenio hall) confirmed it which left him speechless. He returned to American to find his bastard son to make him his heir.

Watch the movie to see how Lavelle Johnson (Jermaine Fowler), the bastard son of King Akeem will be brought home.

The movie dwelled on the beauty and the rich culture of Africa. Our traditions that seem old can be mended and that it’s not always that a king should follow the customs even though it’s outmoded for that century. Changes can be made telling us how dynamic the culture is.

It also brought together blacks around the world telling how great peace among one another can be. Violence isn’t always the solution. Things can be solved peacefully too.

The movie is great and I will entreat you the reader to watch it. It’s a blast. The movie is just too wonderful. Not forgetting, as we all know how jovial Eddie Murphy is, you will laugh as if you are crazy. Just try it!
